Ok here we go AGAIN... Another great product from Ideal World...not.!!
Saw a product called Protect-A-Floor which is supposed to instantly renew your wooden floor to look like new and fill in those scratches.
Well looked simple enough to use so I sent for it at £19.99 plus postage.
It arrived and followed the instructions to test a small area( did not remember the advertisiement mentioning this) nor did the advertisement tell you that this product was unsuitable to use on floors which had previously been washed with a silicone based product.
Anyway...tested it in the hall..seemed ok but a little hard to apply and went on to do a large portion of my living room. Well I have been left with a highly shinny STREAKED floor which took an hour to apply (and I only did a small area which leads from my back door to the hall!!!) because the product dries quickly so you cannot go over the areas which overlap and you can not see these areas until it is dry, then you have to go back and try to reply smoothly which cannot be done. I must have spent hours going over the bits that were missed. What a nightmare. AND before when my pets came in from the yard I could just give the floor a quick wipe, Now I have to really rub the paw prints off!
I called to complain and asked to get information of the manufacturer so I could complain direct to them, but was told I could not have this information. When I explained that Ideal Vitality's name was the only name on the product and asked them why it did not concern them that their name was on a product which did not do what it claimed it did, and asked them to contact the manufacturer on my behalf. I was told to write a letter. I asked them to contact them as a matter of concern but all I kept getting from Ben, the "supposed manager on duty", was that they could not give me the details, they would arrange pick up and refund (whos gonna get the streaks off my floor!!!) and that I would have to write a letter...sounded like a broken record. This has to be one of the worse customer service is have come across.
I again asked Ben to relay my concerns to the manufacturer and was told I would have to write a letter. sound familiar???
I gave him the this web address and asked him to use this comment as written here for "my letter".
I will be calling the head office of Ideal Shopping Direct Plc on Tuesday to go further and will ask them to "read this " and will update this forum with the results. Watch this space Mad
