In the forum I wrote to tell you that my daughter had received a charge for being in the congestion area when she knew it was after 6:30. When she appealed they wrote back saying all times were correct and were all set to GMT and the appeal was denied!! She wrote back stating she wished to appeal the appeal and that she knew her times was correct and accused them of having wrong clock settings to trap motorists and that she was prepared to go to court and also she was going to get the newspapers involved because she had checked the time FIVE times through different methods (watch, petrol station clock, radio on two different stations and car clock) BEFORE going into the area. By the way, on a previous occasion she had been forced into the the congestion charge area on by a lorry when she was a new driver and she appealed and WON because they had stated because she was a new driver AND she was in a road, which when checked, WAS NOT in the congestion charge area!!!! She was NOT going to be in that position again so was extra careful. And guess what....She has had her appeal accepted and charges dropped. Lesson No. 1: Always appeal unless you have just forgotten to pay. Lesson 2: NEVER assume they are right as it has now been PROVEN they are NOT and finally Never give up if you know they are wrong and you are right. Please lets have your comments on this and your stories. The public have a right to hear what is going on. There is strength in numbers Smile
